John G. Myerson, Ph.D., Lic. Ac. is a graduate of Harvard College and the New England School of Acupuncture. He received his Doctorate in Psychology from the Union Institute. John is an empowered shaman in his aboriginal east African healing tradition. He practices shamanic healing, psychotherapy and Chinese medicine, and is the founder of the LifeArts Center for Healing and Shamanic Studies in Framingham, MA. John is also an adjunct faculty member of the Union Institute and University. He studied Zen Buddhism under the late Maureen Stuart Roshi; and has practiced and taught Zen, yoga, Taoist cultivation and martial arts for over 35 years. In addition, John is a founder and past president of the New England School of Acupuncture, served as the Chairman of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Board of Medicine, Committee on Acupuncture, the licensing body for Acupuncture, and was named Acupuncturist of the Year, 2000, by the American Association of Oriental Medicine.
